we are using oracle10g version. Currently my character set is WE8MSWIN1252 At present, somehow,
we have non-english characters(for example spanish) in the database. We wanted to stop entering
these kind of characters.. Can we prevent this by changing the current character set?
Any help is highly appreciated...

Regards

Only US7ASCII allows you to enter only english character, hopefully for you GB did not enter €uro world.

You cannot change the character set but you can create a new database with this character set and import your schemas.

This does not prevent from inserting non-english characters but this prevent the database from understanding them.

Regards
Michel
